The purpose of the Network is to collectively coordinate, promote and advocate activities and information that will assist in the implementation of the principles of sustainable and diversified agriculture (agroforestry) towards the achievement of significant gains in the economic, environmental and social development of North Queensland.
This website has been established to assist in working towards a common vision for diversified agricultural and business development in the region by encouraging cohesion in the community through:-
- Reciprocal dissemination of technical information throughout the Network
- Dissemination of information about the activities of the Network members to farming and the business community, Government and the Public Sector in order to promote a positive attitude to agricultural change
- Promoting entrepreneurism for the diversification of commerce in support of diversified agriculture
- Promoting the branding of products
- Promoting the acquisition of environmental service and carbon credits
- Coordinating research and development proposals in support of diversified land use
- Promoting educational packages for farmers and support industries
- Developing better public relations in the field of sustainable landuse and associated industries (agribusiness, value-adding processing and packaging of agricultural products, marketing and overseas trade, tourism, etc)
- Advertising field days, demonstrations and other events to promote the Networks activities.
