President's Report - Kinan Ahau

Activities for year were dominated by the establishment and management of Farmgate at the Pier. However the organisation carried out other activities including:

• Appropriate Biological Cultivation (ABC) Roundtable organised by Bood Hickson - 12 attendees and outcomes were circulated widely. It was noteworthy however that there was not a lot of support from the Queensland Government or the bureaucracy
• Presentation was made to the Shadow Minister for the Environment, David Gibson - on both the Biodiscovery Act and ABC

This has been a busy year again for NSDA. Many hours have been contributed across the membership engaged in two significant projects, the Appropriate Biological Cultivation project and the Cairns Local Food Market project.

A lot has been accomplished this last year. With funding provided by the National Landcare Program, NSDA met or exceeded virtually all of the objectives of the original grant proposal, in many instances by substantial measure.

Outgoing President's Message - Roger Leakey

As from yesterday's AGM, NSDA is under new management. I would like to wish the new Management Committee all the best for the future of the Network and I would particularly like to thank the very many people who helped me over the last 4-5 years in numerous ways to make NSDA the success it is. We have come a very long way, especially given the very modest financial support that we have been able to attract. Very many people have given their time, skills and talents free of charge and I am very grateful to them for this sacrifice.
