| Free Grant Writing Workshop |
|
This free one-day event is in two parts - a morning seminar on where and how to hook into the money with ideas for effective submissions for good projects, and a practical hands-on afternoon workshop in actually preparing submissions and budgets. Workshops will be held in Ravenshoe & Atherton. Organisations may send their own personnel along to strengthen their skills and effectiveness, or people can enrol themselves. The workshop is designed to assist people involved in a broad range of community and related support activities to locate sources of government and philanthropic funding, and to effectively present their case. It is also important to learn how applications are assessed, including the need for quality feedback and advice. In the morning session, the following will be explained: where to find the money, presenting your case, tips for getting into the top 15%, community support, assessment and time frames, and what happens if successful. The morning learning will lead directly into the afternoon session where theory will be put into practice. Workshop participants may come with an actual project and application form they want to work on, or a past unsuccessful application to obtain feedback about and re-work. Please Note: The workshop is FREE but PRE- BOOKINGS are REQUIRED on 4051 4433. Details: Ravenshoe: Saturday 24 February, 10.00am-4.00pm at Mountains Institute (24 Moore St). Atherton: Sunday 25 February 10.00am-4.00pm at Atherton Shire Council Training Room (Mabel St). Program: a.m. - Seminar in Grant-writing. Handouts provided on the day.
