Lantana Field Days
The next series of Lantana Field Days will be held in the North QLD area Tuesday 13th - Thursday15th of November 2007 to view and talk about the lantana controls that have been undertaken in the area. The field days are being held at:

Malanda - Tuesday 13th November, 2007 ~ (Small scale works in the Atherton Tablelands)

Glen Ruth Station - Wednesday 14th November, 2007 ~ (Large scale works south east of Mt Garnet)

Abergowrie State Forest - Thursday 15th November, 2007 ~ (Control works in a rainforest margin/national park near Ingham)

On the day we will have demonstrations of various techniques, information for handout and walks through recently controlled lantana showing the difficulties posed and overcome. Commercially available equipment suppliers from herbicide and manufacturing companies will also be present to answer any of your questions.

There will also be opportunities to talk to staff from local councils, herbicide representatives, contractors as well as government representatives and find out what other projects are being run in the area. You'll also be able to find out more about the Weeds of National Significance project which is developing best management practices for lantana from the National Lantana Management group.
