Tree seedlings to give away

Joe Butland has approx. 150 - 200 Eucalyptus Grandis seedlings (300-500mm high) in 2 litre plastic bags, and Geoff Dickinson (DPI&F Forestry & Horticulture Scientist) has about 200 Grevillea robusta trees to give away.

Atherton Tableland Farmers wanted for insect pollination study

PhD university student is looking for interested farmers to help with a project on insect pollination of crops in different land uses on the Atherton Tablelands, North Queensland. This will involve the planting of a small 50m x 50m crop of Pak Choi (chinese cabbage or Brassica rapachinensis) on their property and allowing access to the crop to survey insects for 3-5 days when the crop flowers.

Organic Farm Field Day THIS SUNDAY

There will be entry-level information for growers looking at Certified Organic opportunities at a farm field day to be held this Sunday 24 June. The Organic Producers Association of Far North Queensland (OPAFNQ) is hosting this field day at Angela and Phillip Reitano's Certified Organic farm at Garradunga, via Innisfail. The Reitano's live adjacent to Eubenangee Swamp , one of the natural wonders of the Far North where they grow a range of tropical fruits and vegetables.
