NSDA would like to take this opportunity to formally acknowledge the support and inspiration given to our organisation by the Cairns Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC). From the initial formative stages of NSDA, CREDC was instrumental in assisting with the structure of our Network, enabling us to develop a cluster model based on CREDC's own highly successful model. The departure of CREDC from the economic development scene is a great loss to Far North Queensland.

The CRC for Australian Weed Management has produced a Briefing Note on the effect of climate change on invasive plants. It outlines how climate change can be expected to favour invasive plants over established native vegetation, especially if accompanied by an increase in extreme conditions such as droughts alternating with very wet years.

Hello Sustainable Aggie members and supporters,
The Annual General Meeting for Network for Sustainable and Diversified Agriculture (NSDA) will be held at Cominos House, 27 Greenslopes St. Cairns North on the 19th. of October 2007 12.45 for 1pm. start. This will be followed by a General Meeting at 2pm. at which there will be a guest speaker.
May I take this opportunity to say that the Network has been very active over the past twelve months organising numerous field days, workshops and seminars as well as sponsoring conferences valuable to our region. While we have the privilage of having over 600 associate members only 16 of these are financial "ordinary" members able to vote.
May I encourage those would have benefited from any of NSDA's activities or have enjoyed receiving our informative newsletters or just feel that they would like to support events fostering the principle of Sustainable Agriculture - to become Ordinary members - It's only $25 per year! Please find membership form attached. Also attached is a proxy form and a nomination form.
Please see below the AGM Agenda.
Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.
Regards, Sinan Ogun Secretary, NSDA.
