1. Our Place, Our Future: Resourcing Rural Capacity

This funding initiative aims to help rural and remote communities build and strengthen their capacity to shape their future. This includes enhancing community strengths, such as leadership, networks, organisations and infrastructure, and relationships within communities and with other areas. It will assist projects that develop the social, environmental and economic capacity of rural and remote communities and promote and revitalise rural and remote areas.  Applications close 22 October and further information is available at http://www.communities.qld.gov.au/ or 1300 794 611.

2. Small Grants for Small Rural Communities

3. Australia Post Community Development Grant

The final round for 2007 of the Australia Post Community Development Grant program closes 14th September. Open to community groups undertaking strategic projects to care for the environment, the grants are valued at up to $3,300. They can be used to fulfil a group's "wish list" and go directly towards things like funding a community project, helping to buy much needed tools and equipment, or raising awareness and encouraging more community members to get involved in an activity. Visit http://www.landcareonline.com/funding_opportunity_details.asp?fo_id=9 for more information.
