| Women in Rural Industries Awards |
| The 2009 Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) Rural Women's Award opens 1 August. It is for women working in agriculture, fisheries, forestry, natural resource management and related sectors. The award winner receives a $10,000 bursary aimed at assisting them to develop their skills and contribute to profitable and sustainable primary industries in Queensland. The award closes on 15 October- World Rural Women's Day.
